DogBaby...

Holy Smokes 2 whole blog posts in the same month?!?! Am I freaken good or what!!!  HA.  So I think about blogging ALL the time!  Pretty much everyday like 183947515 times a day I check to see if anyone I know has updated their blogs, and I get all depressed when they don't, then I think to myself "I should update mine" because I have lots of things I want to remember and blog about!  My First House.  My Wedding Day.  My Honeymoon.  My Puppy.  My Life.  You get the drift.  But I always feel like I need pictures to go with a post... because really... what's a post without pictures?!  And then I realize... I HAVE NO PICTURES!  I am terrible!  And the thought of actually cleaning my house to take pictures makes me want to lay in bed and watch TV.  So Today is the day my friends!  I am staying true to my resolution - I got out my camera, and uploaded pictures from my phone, and now I am BLOGGING!

So you know those people that have no kids and just pets?  And those pets kind of become replacement kids that get their own rooms and anything they want?  Or you see them walking down the street in more expensive clothing and bling that the actual person is?  Yeah.... that's me.  I admit it.  I can go on and on about "the cutest thing my puppy did the other day" and I find myself bringing him and his life story up to random people (my poor clients!)  And I'm pretty sure my mom is sick and tired of me calling her Bosco's grandma already. I have a full on Dog Baby.  And his name is Bosco.

I have always loved dogs...  I had one growing up and ever since I moved away I have wanted one of my own.  Unfortunately (or fortunately) being a young, broke, renter, I was never able to get one.  Until last year when Jeff and I bought our own home.  I am not kidding you when I say that as soon as we found out we got approved for the house I was online and bought this dog THAT DAY!   But how could you not when it's something that stinking cute right!?  Agh... it was love at first sight.  So I committed a big no-no and bought a random dog I found on Kijiji without meeting it, or the parents or the breeder, and without telling Jeff...  ha whoops.  But he was SO cute!  And even though Jeff is totally a cat person (weird!) and allergic to animals he got over it :)  And even though we were in the process of moving, and combining lives, and getting married, and fixing up our new home we brought home Baby Boss just 2 days after we moved in ourselves.  And he is truly one of the family!  It took a month or so for Jeff to get used to the idea that this is a dog, and not a cat, and he will require a little more attention.  It also took awhile for Jeff to love him because he was so allergic for the first month or so he couldn't breath whenever he came home so he spent a lot of time at his parents house (I really do love my husband I promise) But eventually we found an allergy med that works great, and figured out that if Bosco doesn't sleep in our bedroom then Jeff's allergies are almost non-exsistant! YAY!  I spoil him so much its retarded.  Jeff is always getting mad at me because i'm spending so much money on buying the dog new things (who knew dogs were so expensive?), but I can't even help myself... HE'S MY DOGBABY!

Bosco is a Boxer/Bullmastiff and is the friendliest dog you will ever meet.  He's not scared of anything except for maybe garbage bags, and my little silicone pig 'oven mitt'.  He gets into EVERYTHING because he is just so curious and it drives me NUTS!  WHY didn't ANYONE tell me how much stinking work puppies are!  Okay, i'm sure someone (or many) did tell me that I was biting off more than I can chew but I was not expecting this... I am a terrible dog owner.  I find that I'm always just leaving him in his space in the kitchen because when I do let him out he destroys everything in sight!

Like bags of flour...

or rugs I put in 'his space' (not the first rug that he's destroyed)

or our walls... even after we've patched them up.  (our kitchen is covered in mud patched holes, and we don't dare paint cuz he just keeps eating them!)

or DVD's... (and yes I always THINK I have them put securely away where he CANNOT get to them, but this dog is a genius and always finds a way!)

Or even my furniture...  this is including tables and chairs.

Case and point...  and I don't even have pictures of the hundreds of toys he's shredded within seconds of receiving them, or his 3 beds that hes ripped to pieces.  My DogBaby is a monster.  I guess that's just part of having a puppy??  Or a big puppy that loves to chew.  He's only 6 months and already weighs 70lbs.  I still love him to pieces though, and would die of boredom without his endless goofy looks and dopey things he does.  I am honestly just hoping that after some training classes (which he is currently in) and ALOT of growing up... and maybe getting his jewels hacked... he will calm down to the point where I can leave a room without having to strip it clean so the dog doesn't destroy my new house. Seriously though, after this kids are going to be a breeze!
Family Photo Op.  Now he's so big I can hardly pick him up!

One of his goofy looks.
Such a handsome devil.
Having a sick day... poor lil guy.
Argyle Boss Dog.
Boss' new winter Dig's.

All I have to say is our kids had better be stinking cute to compete with this...

  1. i did not know you had a blog until just today! hooray! and you're dog is pretty cute but I know what you mean about DESTROYING stuff. Annie ruined so many pairs of Blake's shoes cause he left them where she could reach. AND she dug/chewed/scratched a hole in the drywall too! needless to say, our dogs are now outside dogs.
